Pagure Cuirassier (1824–1844)
This detailed natural history illustration of the armored hermit crab is a high-quality digitally enhanced reproduction from Voyage autour du monde, authored by Louis Claude Desaulses de Freycinet and published in Paris between 1824 and 1844. Originating from a French royal scientific expedition around the world, the artwork reflects early 19th-century exploration, featuring contributions by several illustrators and engravers. The collection showcases diverse botanical and zoological subjects documented during the voyages of the corvettes Uranie and Physicienne. 

Each frame design is meticulously hand-painted and printed onto pure cotton, wrapping the frame’s exterior in artisanal charm.
